RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
WHO: All Children Grades Pre K - 8th grade WHEN: Classes begin, Sunday, September 12th and Tuesday, September 14th. HOW: The Religious Education Office is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm or by appointment. Returning children’s registration will now have a $25.00 late fee. Any parish students attending Catholic school (2nd, 8th or 9th grade) please contact the Religious Education office. Please consider volunteering in this most rewarding opportunity. No experience is necessary and all you have to do is say YES!!! CCD Classes begin next Sunday, September 12th, and Tuesday, September 14th! Next Sunday is Catechetical Sunday! All catechist and Confirmation team leaders are asked to attend the 10:30 am Mass in the Marian Center followed by a brief reception in the Rackley Room. There is an 8th grade parent/candidate meeting scheduled for Monday, September 13th, at 7:30 pm in the Rackley Room. Every 8th grade parent and student must attend this meeting. K OF C ANNUAL CHARITY PICNIC - Mother Seton Council #5427 will once again host its Annual Charity Picnic on Sunday, September 12th. Open to everyone this rain or shine event will run from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Pfliegler Pavilion and Picnic Grove at the rear of 79 Pascack Road. This year half of all the profits will go to charities that benefit our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. K of C member Knights volunteer their time and energies for all charitable events. The other half will go to local charities. The festivities will include lots of activities for children and adults. The menu will include flank steak, BBQ ribs, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, clams on the half shell, salad, watermelon, soft drinks, coffee and adult beverages. Adult tickets purchased in advance are $25.00, $30.00 at the gate. Seniors (60+) pay $20.00 for advance tickets and $25.00 on 9/12. Children 5 to 12 are $5.00 and kids under 5 are free. There is a family cap of $50.00 for parents and children under 21. Picnic tables are available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may be bought at the Council Members Room, Monday to Friday between 3:00 and 6:30 pm. Christian Foundation for Ministry (CFM) is a program that provides the knowledge and tools necessary to share your faith through the various ministries of your parish. CFM consists of 9 eight-week courses over three years which will give you the basics about Scripture. Liturgy, Church History and Evangelization. OUR LADY’S MONTHLY PRAYER VIGIL FOR LIFE will be meeting on Monday, September 13th, at 7:30 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 21 Lakeside Avenue, Verona, NJ. We continue to gather each month on the 13th in honor of Our Lady, whose last apparition in Fatima was on the 13th of May, for prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, opportunity for Confession and a teaching and/or witness to living the Gospel of Life Today.
