RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS Congratulations to our second graders who received their First Reconciliation yesterday in the Church: Please pray for them as they begin to prepare for their First Holy Communion! Our next Class Mass is scheduled for Sunday, February 12th, at the 10:30 am Mass in the Marian Center. Our 4th grade will participate in the Mass. We will have a reception in the Rackley Room following the Mass for all parishioners. There will be a meeting for all second grade parents on Monday, February 13th, at either 10:30 am or 7:30 pm in the Rackley Room. You need only to attend one of these meetings. There will be a meeting for all ninth grade parents on Thursday, February 16th, at either 10:30 am or 7:30 pm in the Rackley Room. You need only to attend one of these meetings.

OUR LADY’S PRAYER VIGIL FOR LIFE - We join Our Lady’s continuous vigil of prayer for LIFE as we gather for this brief vigil on the 13th of every month. (Mary’s final apparition in Fatima was on October 13, 1917.) This month’s vigil is at Holy Spirit Church, 984 Suburban Road, Union at 7:00 pm. The evening will include 7-8 pm Mass with pro life homily, 8-9 Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Benediction. Brief discussion and fellowship following Mass. LENTEN MISSION - “Forgiveness Leads to Wellness and Joy” - All are encouraged to hear Fr. Dennis Corrado, C.O. speak on the healing that comes from Forgiveness and Reconciliation - the very essence of the Lenten Season. The Mission will be held at St. John The Baptist in Hillsdale on February 6th to 8th at 7:30 pm in the Church. Refreshments will be available in the Parish Center at the conclusion of each evening session. WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE is celebrated, since 1997, by the universal Church close to the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 2nd. This Sunday the Archdiocese will observe this day with a special emphasis on the call to consecrated life in today’s world. The celebration will take place on Sunday, February 5th, at the noon Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark. All are invited. K OF C MOTHER SETON COUNCIL is collecting personal items for our troops on active duty in the field. Appeals for new, but pre-washed, underwear, socks and tobacco products have come from local Veterans groups. If pre-washing new garments is an issue the K of C will take care of it. Monetary donations are also acceptable. Contributions may be dropped off at the K of C Members Room in the rear of 79 Pascack Road, Monday-Friday between 3:00-6:30 pm or left in the collection bin outside the doors at other times. For questions call 201-664-0422. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATOR TRAINING - Are you interested in becoming part of the ministry to the bereaved in your parish? An eight-week training program is offered by the Office of Family Life Ministries of the Archdiocese of Newark and is now open for registration. Sessions begin in March and continue into May and are offered on Tuesday mornings or on Thursday evenings.
