From The Pastor
In our Gospel Jesus teaches us how to pray. In the “Our Father” he teaches us the perfect prayer. He teaches us that in prayer we must give praise and honor to God, “hallowed be thy name.” He teaches us to ask God’s grace to do what is right, “thy will be done.” He teaches us to ask for that which we need to live, “our daily bread.” And he teaches us to seek His forgiveness “for our trespasses” and to teach us to forgive those who “have trespassed against us.” And Jesus teaches us to ask for God's guidance each day of our lives, “lead us not into temptation.” And to lead us safely home to Him, “deliver us from evil.” Truly, this prayer is perfect and if we reflect upon it and try to live by it we will find happiness and peace in our lives. College Students I know that no one wants to think about going back to school just yet. But, we would like to have a special blessing for you before you go back to school or start school. Since, colleges start at so many different times we would like to do a little something for you. Mark your calendars. On August 15th there will be a special blessing for college students and their families at the 10:30 am mass followed by a little reception in the Rackley Room. Religious Education I am beginning to sound like a broken record but, parents if you have not yet registered your children for next year please see our Religious Ed. Coordinator Matt DeCaux and sign your children up right away. Also, we are still in need of some teachers for our Religious Education classes. So come on and sign up and volunteer. For more information see Religious Education information below. May God Bless You, Fr. Stephen Cinque
STEWARDSHIP The collection for July 17th and 18th was $7,206.00. Thank you for your generosity. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS “One day Jesus was praying in a certain place.” Luke 1:1. Before every major action in His life the Scriptures tell us Jesus prayed. A steward is called to give service to others. It is by following Jesus’ example of praying that we ensure we are doing God’s work and not our own.
